I’M FREE!!! Well..kind of. I quit my job to allow myself the freedom to pursue my travel dreams. I’m not completely free of all responsibilities that come with being a 30-year-old with a mortgage, new […]
In April 2014 I visited Ecuador and Peru. I spent a lovely ten days in Quito the capital of Ecuador and a few surrounding sites. Although it was cloudy and rainy most days, it was beautiful and full of lovely people! The city is filled with old churches and the feeling of times past. I spent most of my days wandering the streets and taking it all in. I visited local churches and museums (where I learned how certain tribes make shrunken heads) and haggled in the markets. I was there over Good Friday when a huge procession takes place and tasted a delicious fanesca soup made with dried fish. I traveled solo and had no issues, but would recommend picking up a few phrases in Spanish to help you along at the market or negotiating fares. Here are a few photos from that trip, enjoy!
